Thank you very much for your letter regarding the current state of funding for Ohio’s libraries. I appreciate your concern for such an important institution and applaud your interest in the legislative process.

I firmly support Ohio’s public libraries, and will do everything possible to ensure that the cuts to these items are reduced. The Senate has passed the budget out of their chamber, and it is now in Conference Committee. Conference Committee is the final step in the budget process, and I will do everything I can to help support Ohio’s library system.

Libraries provide an indispensible service to their communities, especially in times of economic crisis. Maintaining their funding is an important decision which has the potential to help our state in the long run.
