Representative Brown wanted me to thank you for contacting our office and relaying your concerns to your state representative. She is very disappointed that the Governor’s new framework for the budget cuts funding for public libraries so severely. It was the Representative’s understanding that public library funding would remain safe, as was indicated in the House and Senate versions of the budget.

I can tell you that she will continue to work hard to find other ways to balance this biennium’s budget, other than on the back of social services such as public libraries.
